Who

I’m a 20+ year teacher, administrator, and instructional coach at top independent schools in Oregon and California, including teaching week-long workshops to rising seniors in college admissions essay writing each summer.

Why

I’m excited to support you at this exciting time in life, wherever you may be in your college process—from the earliest stages of idea generation to polishing and finalizing your essay. Also, I don’t believe you need to spend thousands of dollars on a private counselor to reach your goals.

About Evan

  • Currently teaches and serves as English Department Chair at one of the best schools in Portland, Oregon.

  • Teaches a summer workshop to rising seniors each summer (every workshop to date full with a wait-list).

  • Worked in public and private education for 20+ years, helping innumerable students apply to college.

  • Coached writing for an elite private college counselor on the East Coast for two admissions seasons while at Columbia University.

  • Earned a BA with Honors and NCAA Academic All-American recognition as a four-year starter on the men’s soccer team at Vassar College.

  • Holds a MEd from Portland State University and a MFA in Writing from Columbia University.
